Is your AI SEO tool
actually helping — or hurting?
Not all AI SEO subscriptions are created equal. Some of the most popular ones inject third-party scripts into your website to make changes remotely. That might sound clever — but it's exactly the kind of behaviour Google's spam AI is trained to detect.
Before you commit to a monthly subscription, it's worth understanding how the tool actually works behind the scenes — because the wrong approach could cost you your rankings long-term.
The question to ask: how does it make changes to my site?
Many AI SEO tools work by adding a JavaScript snippet to your website. This script then modifies your content, meta tags, and schema markup from a remote server. It's quick and cheap to set up — but here's what that actually means for your site:
Google can classify script injection as 'Cloaking'
When a third-party script changes what Google sees versus what your visitors see, Google can treat it as deception. Cloaking is explicitly listed in Google's Spam Policies as grounds for removing a site from search results. It's worth checking whether your SEO tool works this way.
Google's SpamBrain AI is specifically trained to detect this
Google built an AI system called SpamBrain to identify third-party scripts that manipulate SEO content. The challenge is that link farms and spam networks use the exact same technique — so a legitimate AI SEO tool can trigger the same red flags.
Your rankings become dependent on someone else's server
If the tool's server goes down — even briefly — your meta tags, schema markup, and SEO improvements can vanish. Google recrawls your site, finds broken or missing content, and your rankings drop. You might not notice until the damage is done.
External scripts slow your website down
Every additional script adds loading time. Google measures page speed through Core Web Vitals — slower pages rank lower. It's worth checking whether the tool that's supposed to improve your SEO is actually costing you performance points.
A third party gains access to your site's content
A script running on your website can read cookies, capture form data, redirect visitors, and modify any content. That means you're trusting the tool provider's entire security posture. If they have a breach, your site could be affected too.
Google's guidelines are clear on this
Google's Search Essentials documentation states: 'Don't use third-party services that manipulate your site's content in ways designed to affect search engine rankings.' It's worth asking your current provider whether their approach falls under this.
Two very different approaches to SEO

How we handle your SEO
You don't need to do anything. We take care of everything — the right way.
We run a comprehensive audit of your site
Our team runs a 31-point analysis covering everything Google, Bing, ChatGPT, and voice assistants look for — meta tags, schema, page speed, security, AI readiness, accessibility. You receive a full report in plain English.
We study your brand
Before we touch anything, we analyse your website's existing voice, tone, key phrases, services, and style. A florist gets florist language. A law firm gets professional language. We never use generic, one-size-fits-all SEO content.
We craft content that matches your brand
Using our bespoke AI tools trained on your brand profile, we create meta titles, descriptions, schema markup, FAQ content, and social sharing tags that sound exactly like you wrote them. Your brand. Your voice. Your words.
Our team reviews every change before it goes live
Nothing touches your website until our SEO specialists have checked it matches your brand perfectly. We compare what's there now against what we're implementing — every meta tag, every schema, every description is quality-checked internally.
We apply the changes and send you proof
Our bespoke software makes every change natively through your WordPress, Wix, Shopify, GoHighLevel, or Kartra admin panel — the same way a web developer would. We then send you a before-and-after report showing exactly what was improved, so you can see the impact even though the work happens behind the scenes.
Why clients trust us with their websites
Done For You — Completely
You don't need to learn SEO, install plugins, or log into anything. We handle the entire process from audit to implementation to proof of work. You get on with running your business.
Your Brand, Not Ours
We don't use templates. Our bespoke AI studies your actual website — your words, your prices, your services, your location — and creates content that's unmistakably you.
Before-and-After Proof
After every round of changes, we send you a clear report showing what was there before and what's there now. Screen recordings of the work in action available on request. No black boxes. No mystery changes.
Your Credentials, Protected
We store your CMS login details with AES-256 encryption — the same standard used by banks. They're never visible in our systems, never logged, never shared. Military-grade protection.
Works With Your Platform
WordPress, Wix, GoHighLevel, Kartra, Shopify — we work with all of them natively. No plugins, no add-ons, no compatibility headaches. Just direct access through your existing admin panel.
Future-Proof SEO
We don't just check the basics. We optimise for AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity), voice assistants (Alexa, Siri), and next-generation search — not just traditional Google ranking.
Don't just take our word for it
These are Google's own guidelines — not our interpretation.
"Cloaking refers to the practice of presenting different content to users than to search engines. Cloaking is considered a violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines because it provides our users with different results than they expected."
— Google Search Central Documentation
"Don't use third-party services that manipulate your site's content in ways designed to affect search engine rankings."
— Google Search Essentials (Spam Policies)
"SpamBrain is our AI-based spam-prevention system. SpamBrain can not only detect spam directly, but also detect both sites buying links and sites used for the purpose of passing outgoing links."
— Google Search Status Dashboard (2024)
